Digital Learning Competencies for Classroom teachers

Introduction

Teachers need to develop some competences to teach adequately  to the 21st. century students. It is essential to integrate technology in education because students know how to use it and they are motivated in the learning process. However, applying technology is not just using computers and sites in the classroom, it involves more than that. So, teachers should develop the competences needed.

Digital Learning

According to Parmar (2018), digital learning refers to any instructional practice which effectively uses technology to strengthen students' learning experience. It provides access to challenging content, feedback through formative assessment, and opportunities to increase learning using different resources. In addition, it helps people who cannot go to a school to learn because of work.

Reasons for introducing digital learning in the classroom

Implementing technology in the learning process has a lot of benefits because students have more resources to increase their knowledge. There are many reasons to implementing in the classroom so, I share five of the main reasons in the following infographic.

According to Parmar (2018), integrating mobile technology in classes is no longer just an option in teaching and learning. Technology has become part of the learning process in the 21st. century so, it is not an option, it is necessary. However, there are schools which have not implemented it in the learning process.

Teachers should develop some digital learning competencies to implement technology effectively. So, they use these to improve their practice and drive students learning withing their classrooms.

Conclusion
Integrating technology in learning is more than using it in the classroom, teachers need to know what to consider in the process. They should consider how to be an effective leader, what resources to assess students, and how to design the content for the classes. In addition, they can take advantage of the technology benefits because students and teachers and in the digital area.
